Your Support in Germany

While in Germany, you will receive support from your German family as well as from your AYUSA representative. Your representative will have visited your host family before you arrive in order to explain to them the nature of the program. He or she will be your first point of contact.

Your AYUSA Representative supports you by:

• Visiting you and your host family shortly after arrival.
• Providing you with information on community resources, such as local educational institutes.
• Maintaining close contact with you and your host family during your program.

The AYUSA representative‘s most important role is to help you and your host family have a successful and enjoyable program together. Communication and adjustment questions, homesickness, or misunderstandings are best overcome with mediation from your AYUSA representative when needed. The AYUSA representatives are generally not full-time staff but they are all trained and very passionate about culture exchange.

Please note that if you are placed in the Berlin area, your representative might be a staff member in the AYUSA Berlin office.
